  • China has launched its biggest and most powerful naval destroyer, the Type 055 at the Shanghai port.
  • India and Netherlands have signed 3 MoUs after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his dutch counterpart Mark Rutte. The 3 agreements are: MoU on cultural cooperation, MoU on water cooperation and Agreement on Amending Social Security Arrangement.
  • Mihai Tudose has been appointed as Romania’s new Prime Minister by President Klaus Iohannis.

  • The Election Commission of India and Facebook have partnered to launch nationwide voter registration reminder aimed at reminding eligible Indian voters to register themselves on the electoral rolls. It will be available in 13 languages.
  • Orissa is going to become the first state to open a blood bank for cattle after receiving approval for the project from the National Agriculture Development Programme.
  • Petya Ransomware is a new wave of cyber attacks across the world and it has stalled operations at one of the terminals of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. Ukraine and Russia are the worst affected countries.
  • ISRO launched the GSAT-17 communication Satellite onboard the Ariane-5 launch vehicle from the Guiana Space Center at French Guiana. It will have a mission life of 15 years.
  • Google has been fined 2.42 billion euros by the European Commission after it ruled the company had abused its power by promoting its own shopping comparison service at the top of search results.
  • Actress Priyanka Chopra is now an ambassador for the Government’s Skill India campaign with the National Skill Development Corporation.
  • Roger Federer won his 9th Halle Open Title after beating Alexander Zverev in Germany.
