World's largest aircraft launched by Stratolaunch

  1. The world’s largest aircraft, developed by aerospace venture Stratolaunch has successfully completed its first flight test. The Aircraft has a dual fuselage design and a wingspan greater than the length of an American football field. The Aircraft achieved a maximum speed of 189 miles (302.4 km) per hour. Stratolaunch is an American space transportation venture developing a new air launch to orbit system.

  2. My Circle App was launched by Bharti Airtel in collaboration with FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) with an aim to help women in case they face any problem or a panic situation. My Circle app enables women to send SOS alerts to any five of their family or friends in 13 languages. The SOS alert will send the user’s location over SMS to the five contacts selected by the user and advise them to immediately reach out or respond to the emergency situation.
  3. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has formed a Central Monitoring Committee to prepare and enforce a national plan to make over 350 river stretches across the country pollution free. The Chairman of CPCB will be the nodal authority for coordination. The first meeting of the Central Monitoring Committee may be held by June 30. The NGT has directed the panel to submit its report by July 31.
  4. Sudan’s military council has removed defence minister Awad Ibn Auf from his role and appointed a new intelligence chief. With this, Lieutenant General Abu Bakr Mustafa will replace Salah Abdallah Mohamed Saleh, known as Salah Gosh, as chief of Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Service. Sudan’s ambassadors to Washington and Geneva were also sacked. Sudan’s long-time president Omar al-Bashir was removed from office and arrested on April 11, 2019.
  5. The Union Cabinet has given its approval to create one post of Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Coordination, Communication and Information System) in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The Deputy Comptroller and  Auditor General will oversee the coordination among State Audits, audit of telecommunication and coordinate the various Information Systems initiatives within the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
  6. Cabinet has approved cooperation agreement between India and Denmark in the field of renewable energy with focus on offshore wind energy. The Agreement was signed in March this year in New Delhi. The areas of cooperation include technical capacity building for management of off­shore wind projects and measures to develop and sustain a highly efficient wind industry.
  7. UAE is set to host the world’s foremost Artificial Intelligence, AI Summit to empower global dialogue on the future of government, business and society. The inaugural ‘AI Everything’, AIE will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, between 30th April and 1st May. The two-day event will bring together world leaders to define the underlying pillars of governance, business and society – augmenting the world’s happiness.
