  1. Indian wrestler Rahul Aware defeated American Tyler Lee Graff by 11-4 to win the bronze medal in the men’s 61 kilogram free-style category at the World Championship in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on 22nd September, 2019. Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya have also won bronze at the event. Vinesh Phogat won bronze in the women’s 53kg category. With this, India reached a total haul of 5 medals -1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

  2. Addressing the Howdy Mody event at Houston on 22nd September, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a clarion call for a decisive fight against terrorism and its proponents. He also interacted with the members of the Sikh Community, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits and members of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
  3. Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the seven-storey green building – Janganana (census) Bhawan at Mansingh Road in New Delhi. The next census of India in 2021 – the gigantic exercise to determine the population of the country – will be a “digital census”, with a mobile app used to collect data. The National Population Register is being prepared for the first time in the 2021 census. Census 2021 is the 16th census in the country and the 8th since Independence.
  4. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Karambir Singh reached Dhaka on a four-day visit of Bangladesh on 21st September, 2019. He will meet Chiefs of Air Force, Army and Navy of Bangladesh and the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division during his visit. He will also be meeting the Security Affairs Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
  5. Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Campaign 2019 on 20th September, 2019 at NASC, Pusa in New Delhi. The department of AC&FW has decided to distribute seed mini-kits for Rabi crops, pulses and oilseed with active involvement of the State Agriculture Department.
  6. Chairman Emeritus of advertising firm DDB Mudra group Madhukar Kamath has been elected as the Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for year 2019-2020. He has also been the President of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), Chairman of Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) and Chairman of Mudra Foundation. Founded in 1948, the ABC is responsible for certifying and auditing the circulations of major publications (primarily of newspapers and magazines) in India.
  7. In the World Wrestling Championship, India’s Deepak Punia was pulled out of the final in the 86 kg category against Iran’s Hassan Yazdani due to an ankle injury sustained during the semi-final bout. The 20-year-old will now have to be content with a silver medal in his debut senior world championship.
