  1. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has tightened norms governing resolution professionals wherein restrictions will also be in place for their relatives from taking up employment after completion of a resolution process. Insolvency resolution professionals would be barred from having employment when they are in possession of authorisation to take up work under the insolvency law. The IBBI was formed on 1st October, 2016.

  2. Jordan has unveiled its first Underwater Military Museum on the bed of the Red Sea, off the coast of Aqaba. As a part of this, the kingdom submerged several military vehicles, including tanks, troop carriers and a helicopter, into the waters of the Red Sea. The vehicles have been stationed at a coral reef in the Red Sea, imitating a battle tactical formation.
  3. The first commercial rocket of China, Hyperbola-1 has been launched into the Earth’s orbit by iSpace, a Chinese startup. Hyperbola-1 lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre with two satellites and payloads into a predetermined orbit. The height of the rocket was around 68 feet (20.8 meters), with a maximum diameter of around 4.6 feet (1.4 meters).
  4. FSSAI has launched a logo for Trans-Fat Free, making it easier for customers to make informed choices. Only products with not more than 0.2g trans-fat per 100g/100 ml can use this logo. Food establishments like bakeries, sweet shops and other food outlets are encouraged to use healthier fat or oil options, thereby reducing the trans-fat content in the foods.
  5. Tunisia’s first democratically elected President, Beji Caid Essebsi died at the age of 92. He was the world’s oldest sitting president. Essebsi had won Tunisia’s first free elections in 2014, following Arab uprisings across the region. The speaker of the parliament, Mohamed Ennaceur is to take over as the interim President.
  6. Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that about 10 crore people have become beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and 16039 hospitals, including 8059 private hospitals and 7980 public hospitals, have been empanelled under the scheme. Ayushman Bharat Yojana was launched in 2018, under the Ayushman Bharat Mission of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in India.
  7. Government has prepared a draft National e-Commerce Policy to address the six broad issues of e-commerce ecosystem in the country. They include e-commerce market place, regulatory matters, infrastructure development and export promotion through e-commerce.
