  1. Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Prothishtan (BKSP) defeated Nilmani English School, Manipur to successfully defend their U17 Girls Subroto Cup International Football 2019 title held in New Delhi. Founded in 1960, Subroto Cup International Football Tournament is one of the famous inter-school football tournaments in India. It is named after Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee.
  2. The first Conference on Military Medicine for Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Member States will be held in New Delhi from 12th to 13th September, 20 19. The conference will also be the first military co-operation event hosted by India under SCO Defence Co-operation Plan 2019-2020, after India became an SCO member country in 2017. The aim of the conference is to share best practices in the field of military medicine, build capacities and overcome common challenges.
  3. President of CPWD Officers’ Wives Association, Deepa Singh will inaugurate the Bal Basera or a Crèche, a project for the welfare of Children of Construction Workers who are deployed at the AIIMS Rishikesh site, on 9th September 2019. Central Public Works Department (CPWD) supported the project. Founded in 1971 by Late Mrs Rachel Muthachen, CPWD Officer’s Wives Association is a socio-cultural organization run by the wives of the officers of Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
  4. The government has constituted a task force headed by Economic Affairs Secretary Rajiv Kumar for drawing up the National Infrastructure Pipeline of 100 lakh crore rupees from the fiscal year 2019-20 to 2024-25. The task force will identify technically feasible and economically viable infrastructure projects that can be initiated in the current fiscal.

  5. Russia will be conducting a multilateral military exercise TSENTR 2019 from 9th to 23rd September at one of its four military Commands – Vostok (East), Zapad (West), TSENTR (Centre) and Kavkas (South). It will be the first time since the Balakot Airstrike that India and Pakistan will be taking part in a military exercise together.  The exercise is aimed at evolving drills of participating armies in fight against international terrorism and ensuring military security in strategic Central Asian region.
  6. Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu released a coffee table book titled ‘Glorious Diaspora – Pride of India’ on recipients of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards (PBSA) from 2003-2019 in New Delhi. It has been brought out by the Indian Diaspora Club. Launched in 2003, the PBSA is the highest honour conferred on the overseas Indian. The PBSA is conferred every year on 9th January, which is celebrated as Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD).
  7. India will host the 6th India-China Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED) in New Delhi from 7th to 9th September, 2019. It will be co-chaired by the Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Rajiv Kumar along with the Chairman of National Development and Reforms Commission (NDRC) of China. India-China SED was established in December 2010.
  8. President Ram Nath Kovind will embark on a three-nation tour from 9th to 17th September, 2019. He will visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia. The visit aims to enhance mutual understanding in the fields of climate change, green technology, geothermal energy, culture, tourism and agriculture. This will be the first-ever visit of the Indian President to Slovenia that became Independent in 1991.
